Hamilton Compares Red Bull’s Off-Track Drama To “A Kardashian Show”

Lewis Hamilton has given his opinion on the off-track dramas that have been playing out in Formula One in 2022, comparing Red Bull’s antics to “a Kardashian show”. Speaking to Channel 4, the Mercedes driver also opened up about the challenges he faced in the season and how he was able to overcome them.

Hamilton, who has been racing in Formula One since 2007 and is widely considered one of the greatest drivers of all time, spoke candidly about his experiences during the 2022 season. He credited the love and support he received from fans with helping him to get through what was a challenging year.

“Just the general love that I have experienced through the year which I think is what has got me through the year, if I’m really honest – with the challenge of coming back in, wanting to fight back but not being able to fight back,” he said. “So, this year was one that I was able to open up a little bit more on a little bit and that’s really been a beautiful experience. So, I’m really grateful for that.”

But Hamilton wasn’t just talking about himself. He also had some thoughts on the off-track drama that has been playing out between Red Bull and other teams. He compared it to a reality TV show, saying that some of the things he had heard were “hilarious”.

“I mean, it feels like a bit of a Kardashian show happening here. It’s pretty hilarious, some of the stuff that I’ve heard over the past few days has been so entertaining,” he said. “I’m sure it’ll all be on Netflix. It’s going to be great.”

Hamilton was likely referring to the ongoing controversy surrounding Red Bull’s breach of the budget cap. The team was fined but allowed to keep their championship points, which led to accusations that they got off lightly. There have also been accusations of cheating and other forms of rule-breaking, which have led to tensions between Red Bull and other teams.

Despite the drama, Hamilton has remained focused on his own racing. Whether or not Red Bull’s off-track antics will continue into the 2023 season remains to be seen, but Hamilton’s comments suggest that he is not particularly bothered by it.
