Red Bull’s team principal, Christian Horner, has expressed his loyalty towards the team and its people in a recent interview with AMuS. Despite having been approached by Ferrari to become their team principal, Horner declined the offer, citing his strong bond with Red Bull.
“I have never thought about joining a team other than Red Bull. I feel a loyalty to Red Bull and of course, the people here. When you’re working with such a great team, why would you want to be anywhere else?” Horner said.
Horner’s loyalty to Red Bull is not only admirable but also shows the strong culture that exists within the team. His dedication to the team’s success is evident through the many achievements that Red Bull has accomplished under his leadership.
When asked about the possibility of Mattia Binotto joining Red Bull, Horner seemed hesitant about the idea. Binotto, who previously served as Ferrari’s team principal, recently announced his departure from the team. Horner sympathized with Binotto’s challenging last season with Ferrari and suggested that there may be other opportunities for him in the future, albeit further down the grid.
“I don’t see what role Mattia would perform in our team, but I’m sure there are other opportunities for him further down the grid,” Horner said.
The departure of Binotto is not the only change that the 2023 grid will see, as it will also be missing a few drivers from the 2022 season. The loss of a team principal is a significant change for any team, and Ferrari will be looking to find a new leader to fill Binotto’s shoes.
